Longhorn nation is a term used by many people when they are speaking about the highly rated and respected Early Independent School District. I am humbled to have been selected by our dedicated Board of Trustees to serve as the interim superintendent for the district. As interim superintendent, I serve at the pleasure of the Board and I am excited to be part of the Longhorn Nation. The role of an interim superintendent is to be the superintendent of the district for the duration of the interim period. During this interim time, the Board will be searching for a new permanent superintendent.

My background includes over 30 years as a superintendent in several different Texas school districts. I began my career as an American history teacher and coach in the Austin Independent School District. As a graduate of The University of Texas in Austin, I have Longhorns in my history. As the superintendent, it is my goal to provide leadership and direction as we work to accomplish our District mission which is, “To provide an environment for individual growth and development of the whole child and to prepare our students to positively impact an ever changing world.” Please do not hesitate to call or come by if you have questions or suggestions.

My family includes my beautiful wife Joan and two grown children. We have 3 grandkids and one great grandson.
