Early Independent School District Student Transfer Application

April is Early ISD’s official transfer student application month for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Texas law states students must attend school in the district in which they reside, unless they have requested an annual transfer into another district. A nonresident student, including a full-time District employee’s child, wishing to transfer into the district must complete a transfer application. Online applications are being accepted beginning April 1, 2026, for the 2026-27 school year. Only the parent or legal guardian may fill out the application. Please fill out one application per child. Student Transfer Applications are not available to qualifying Pre-K students unless the parent or legal guardian is a teacher in the district. The transfer application must be officially approved by the receiving district’s Board of Trustees.

When reviewing transfer applications, Early ISD will consider each request on an individual basis. Transfers may be denied based on school capacity, staffing availability, and can be revoked for poor attendance or discipline. Transportation services are not provided for transfer students.

Transfer approval/denial notifications will be issued by email between July 6th and July 31st. Please provide a valid email address when completing the application. Until an approved transfer email has been received, a student should plan on attending his/her assigned school district based on the residence of his/her parent or guardian.

Please NOTE* When completing the application, the sending district is where you will list the district and campus name in which your child would attend, based on where you reside. Regardless if your child attended Early ISD last year, we must have the sending district and campus name. Not filling out the form correctly could result in the delay of your transfer approval.

If your student is new to the district and lives out of the district school zone, you will need to complete both the transfer application and the new student enrollment application. Once the student transfer has been approved, you will need to contact the campus of enrollment for application information.
